Sony OLED TV

Sony established a milestone with the introduction of the industry's first Sony OLED TV (Organic Light Emitting Diode television), the XEL-1. This 11" diagonal desktop color television is just the first step Sony is taking in the world of OLED televisions. In the last week or so there has been OLED TV news from Sony, and they are not good. Sony announced that they are putting off introducing a larger OLED TV than the current XEL-1. A 27" model was expected soon from Sony but with the current economic situation and losses at Sony, it may take a while longer. Sony's TV division lost $1.34 billion last year, comprising more than half of the company's entire loss. Now Sony is retrenching, trying to get its TV department in order. Sony, like everyone, loves OLED, but the cost to develop it seems like it fails to even approach the revenue it's likely to see from selling it...
