Sony PVM-1741 / PVM-2541

Today we have new Sony OLED Monitor release.

Sony has release new two OLED Monitors today, with more affordable price than Sony’s previous TRIMASTER series. This two monitors are coming in two sizes that include 25 inch PVM-2541 and 17 inch PVM-1741 models. Both Monitors are sharing same features though.

Monitors built with aluminum body feature full HD resolution, “Super Top Emission” OLED screen with Sony’s 10-bit panel driver, 2x 3G-SDI, HDMI, composite, audio, Ethernet, 89 degrees viewing angle and a 1W mono speaker.

Both monitors will be released in Q2 2011 in Japan. The PVM-1741 will cost ¥417,900 ($4,900) and the PVM-2541 will cost ¥627,900 ($7,400). That's much cheaper then the BVM monitors (which cost $15,000 and $30,000).

Sony PVM-740

Sony has released the first field display Sony OLED Monitor, the PVM-740.

The PVM-740 is a 7.4-inch 960 x 540 pixel resolution portable monitor designed for professional users that offers picture contrast greater than a CRT display and is less affected by ambient light, allowing images to be viewed even in strong sunlight.
The OLED Monitor can fit a range of professional monitoring applications, including studio editing, ENG and EFT production, OB trucks, and even research and development. It is also ideal for use in 3D camera rigs with its flip mode.
The monitor is equipped with standard interface connectors: a composite video, a 3G/HD/SD-SDI, and an HDMI interface.
With the 3G-SDI interface, it accepts 1080/50p and 1080/60p formats, which is compliant with the SMPTE 425 standard, transmitting up to 4:2:2/10-bit 1080/60p and 1080/50pvideo data using one SDI cable. As sports and live production move toward a 1080p system, this single-link 3G-SDI system can be an ideal solution.
Sony plans to release the PVM-740 in April at a suggested price of US$3,850.
