OLED Laptop

OLED technology has been touted as a coming "next big thing" in

laptop computer development. At the recent CES 2010, in Las Vegas,

companies have announced their plans and showed us many OLED

 Laptop concepts.

Samsung OLED Notebook

Samsung is showing off their concept that is straight out of a Sci-Fi movie.
A notebook prototype with a 14 inch transparent OLED display. When the screen is off, it's up to 40% transparent. And when it's on, you can clearly see the display, but you can also see right through it.
Word is that Samsung has plans to sell a laptop later this year.

Dell have displayed a concept model laptop, Studio XPS 16, with a large 16" OLED screen that is just 2mm thick.
The panel gives the notebook a much higher contrast ratio -- Dell claims 10,000:1 -- and slims the panel to about 2mm (0.08in) thick. Response times and battery usage also get better with the OLED panel.
Dell won't give out any details as yet about whether this is going to be released to the UK market, stating it's just a concept.
