Sony must delay global launch of NGP Portable PlayStation until 2012?

According to a Bloomberg report, Sony may delay the launch of the NGP due to a component shortage caused by the Japanese earthquake last month. That news comes from Sony Computer Entertainment of America president Jack Tretton.

He told Bloomberg that the Sony NGP may arrive in just one region this year rather than Asia, Europe and the US simultaneously. The issue is the result of disruption following the March 11 Japanese earthquake.

The Display is a 5 inch Touchscreen AMOLED Display with a 960x544 pixel resolution. Sony show off the great viewing angle abilities of the OLED screen in their presentation.

5 inches (16:9), 960 x 544, Approx. 16 million colors, OLED Multi touch screen (capacitive type)
The NGP PSP-2 features also: 3G, WiFi, GPS, front and rear touchpads, an electronic compass, and cameras on both the front and the rear.
